The camp was perfect. We stayed in the rooms with AC and the bathroom and rooms were clean and there was a fridge as well in the room. The breakfast and dinner were really delicious and the portions were really generous. The staff made sure to accommodate us especially Hussein. Definitely recommended and will come again.

The place was very clean, the service was excellent, the staff is very nice.
The owner of the place, Salama, was friendly, nice, and very helpful. We asked him to arrange a trip for us to Wadi El-Weshwash, get us a car to drive us to Dahab, he did all that and managed to get us good prices too.
The food was absolutely delicious with generous portions.
I'd diffently go there again and highly recommend it.

10 years since I last visited still perfect. Some remodelling has only added to the appeal.
RESERVATION
I used email (see their website), however Salama is also contactable via WhatsApp message.
WI-FI/CONNECTIVITY
Sawa Camp does NOT have WiFi. I was recommended beforehand to get a Vodafone SIM, perfect.
SAFETY
No concerns. I rented a car this time (taxi transfers previously). Driving up from Sharm-El-Sheikh, stop in Dahab, then up to Sawa Camp (20km north of Nuweiba, Google maps location was spot-on). No hassle.
PARKING
Lots of parking at Sawa Camp. Open/unsecured however most camps would be in this area and I had no issues.
LOCATION LOCATION
OK, so if you want a 5* Hilton experience then Sharm/Dahab may be better for you. If you want quiet relaxation, this is perfect. Sawa Camp has an enviable backdrop of the Sinai mountains. There is some minor car noise from the motorway however its not bad (difficult to avoid as highway hugs the coast in this area).
SAWA CAMP ACCOMMODATION
The prime spots (in my opinion) are the huts closest to the water. Numbered 0 to 7. The oldest are 0 and 1, I have stayed in them before and they are fine. This time I stayed in No.4 which is newer (2 to 7 are the newer ones, with 7 closest to the restaurant). Rustic, however concrete floor with rugs, mattress/linen, blankets, pillows, new mosquito net, palm fronds on roof. Simple however very appealing. Hammock and table/chair on shaded area outside. 24hr power inside and out. No air-con by default however they seem to have portable a/c units on request - suggest arrange in advance and expect a charge. In March I did not want a/c.
Behind these are some more recent builds which are more substantial full concrete/brick with air conditioning. Further from sea (by maybe 30 seconds!), however still appealing. If you demand aircon and more luxury then these are better for you.
BATHROOMS
For the simpler huts there is a male/female shared toilet/shower block. However locks on doors and private therefore. Cleanliness is simply perfect - they are kept spotlessly clean, always. I think water may be solar only, however I always had hot water, morning and evening.
BEACH
Perfect sandy beach, kept exceptionally clean and raked by the staff daily. Can take a while to walk out to deeper water however not an issue.
RESTAURANT
Wonderful open-air (covered and uncovered) areas for eating/relaxing/drinks. Modest menu however everything I had was really excellent and prices are fair.
STAFF
Salama, the owner, speaks great English and runs a really tight ship, standards are high. Speaking to others, they confirm my own experience - that Salama is completely reliable, utterly honest and fair. Very congenial and aware that most people want a quiet relaxed stay. The staff are wonderful, without exception.
MOSQUITOS
In the Spring/Summer they are a fact of life in this region. In March they would be out from about 5pm however never early morning or during the day that I noticed. Not overly aggressive however repellent in the evening is a MUST. I used "OFF" (on sale everywhere), and natural citrus type oils - both effective. Buy in Sharm/Dahab/Nuweiba at most supermarkets or a pharmacy, fail to use it in the evening and you WILL get bitten, maybe unless its colder or windy!
SIGHTSEEING
The pleasure really is having nothing but the fabulous beach, water and a place to relax! Still, if you have a car (or Salama would arrange a driver), St Catherine Monestary is just under 2hrs inland by road. Check their website as they open at specific times/days. Nuweiba has a great Cafe (Café Little Prince) open from 1pm with great juices and superb homemade Ice-Cream, 20mins away. Dahab is about an hours drive south. 30mins North is Fjord Bay, perfect for a photo however no longer accessible for swimming. 5mins further towards Taba is Pharaohs Island. Overall I found it a struggle to leave the Camp however!

I loved Sawa camp. It is a camp that has kept things basic in the expanding Nuweiba strip, where more luxury keeps being built, unbefitting the surroundings and peaceful air the place breathes.
The huts are simple yet sufficient. You can wake up on the beach in the most basic type, or next to it in huts with private bathroom and AC.
Salama, the owner, is very friendly, as is the camp manager/worker Mostafa. The food is basic but fresh and tasty.
Would highly recommend for those really looking to disconnect and live simply for a bit.

Simple clean huts, right on the water. good food. Quiet (very quiet) laid back atmosphere. Sandy beach, very shallow water. Bathroom could use some update but kept clean at all times. The owner Salama is a very nice and welcoming person, and the team is great.
